Virtual Learning Grade 4 2020-2021
Below are a few reminders to help make your experience a positive one for you.
Be on time for all classes. (Information will be given for log in and times.)
Attendance needs to be reported by 8:30 using the Remind App or my school email.
Dress appropriately for class. Students must wear their SMA gym uniform or the SMA Regular / Spring Uniform when participating in SMA Virtual Learning Program.
Be seated in your best “Learning Environment “ that is free from all distractions.
Have all your books and supplies readily available so you can be ACTIVELY ENGAGED with your class. You are to stay muted unless called on during class. If you have a question use the "raise hand" feature. Backgrounds are not permitted. You must be visible during class.
You will need to review Teacher Website daily for Homework, Virtual Lesson updates etc.
Assignments, projects, activities etc are to be completed by you and submitted on time. You must complete the same assignments at home that classmates will be doing in school. In class instruction will incorporate use of Smart Board, Document Reader, Apple TV...
You will need access to an IPad or Laptop and a Printer. You may need to take pictures of your work and send to me. ( Directions will be given through Remind or Text.)
Make use of programs such as First in Math, RazKidsPlus, Prodigy, Epic, Vooks, Digital Texts and Rosetta Stone. (These are just some programs used in our class.) You will be given access information.
Please make sure you have eaten prior to our class. (Water bottle is permitted.)
*Parents need to be readily available to help guide the student with logging on to lessons on time, making sure student is prepared for virtual classes and understand that Remind app and text information is between teacher and parents to help provide the best for the student. It is not permitted to communicate in Remind or text teacher to student.

Classes will
• Create learning opportunities that resemble classroom content using familiar wording.
• Communicate with students first with the tools teachers and students are already utilizing and familiar with at this time. Use common platforms (Zoom, Google Docs, YouTube)
• Create cross-curricular work when possible to maximize efficiency. Read Science or Social Studies, use English language arts-based questions for comprehension, discussion, and/or writing.
Zoom and/or Google Classroom will be used for classes however there will also be the need for independent study in respect to certain subjects.
Google Classroom (Forms, Google Docs...)may be used to provide interaction between the teacher and the student to provide notes, activities, quizzes, tests, project directions etc. If Google Classroom is being used each child will have a code to log into that site for any class notes, tests, quizzes etc. All students will be given an email and password for Google Classroom.
Lessons will be recorded as needed.
Learning time can include:
• Reading and reflection
• Writing
• Recorded lectures
• Non-Digital material
• Discussion boards
• Online resources
• Content-based activities
• Online videos
• Manipulative materials/handouts
• Math related to Real Life
Self-assessments in Content Areas
• Teacher will determine whether students are completing work online or traditionally.

Special Teachers will have their schedules and lessons for you. Special classes are graded in fourth grade.
Student Books: Religion Text, Math Text /Workbook, Grammar Book, Reader and Reading Workbook, Spelling/Vocabulary Books, Social Studies Text and Activity Book, Science Text, Subject Copybooks with handouts, activities and notes. (IPad, Printer)
