SMA School Uniform Policy
Dear Parents/Guardians, Greetings! Our SMA uniform includes the following points.

- Please review the SMA School Uniform Policy. (See below.)
- SMA Sweaters with the old logo will be grandfathered in. When worn out, please discard. (Do not place in SMA Swap Shop. TY!)
- SMA Winter Uniform Sweater Policy Grades 1-8 Sweaters are mandatory for SMA Winter Uniform for Grades 1-8. There are optional types of the SMA sweater that may be worn. (Homeroom teachers can decide sweaters may be removed if classroom conditions warrant.)
- The SMA Swap Shop is open with uniform donated items.
- Sneaker Policy for both Gym and the SMA Spring Uniform: low-cut totally black or totally white sneakers with black or white matching sneaker laces and white/black matching socks.
- Flynn & O’Hara is our uniform vender. (They have partnered with Catholic schools for many years and provide high quality durable garments.)

Spring/Winter Uniform Policy

All of the uniform options are available for purchase at Flynn and O’Hara. Any student not in compliance with the dress code will receive a demerit form. Personal appearance that constitutes a distraction in not permitted. Final approval/disapproval is at the discretion of the Principal.
A. Hair styles/Grooming: Student’s hair is to be neat and clean, and groomed conservatively. No extreme styles. Hair should not cover the eyes. Boy’s hair may not touch their shirt collar and ears must be cut out. The Principal has the final decision on correct hairstyles.
B. Jewelry: Although jewelry is not part of the school uniform, post earrings of a small and conservative style are permitted to be worn by the girls (one earring only in each ear). No other visible piercing is permitted. Bracelets, both ankle and wrist, pins and buttons are not part of the school uniform. This includes all rope, yarn and beaded neck, wrist and ankle bands. A religious medal or cross is permitted.
C. Out of Uniform: If at any time during the year an exception in uniform is necessary, a note of explanation must be sent to the child’s teacher who will forward it to the principal. This note should indicate the expected date when the uniform will be complete.
D. Make-up: No make-up or nail polish is acceptable. Sculptured nails may not be worn in school.
E. Shoes: (Boys) Brown “Black Dirty Buck” or “Oxfords” ~ (Girls) Black “Dirty Buck” or “Maryjane’s No sneakers, sneaker-type shoes, moccasins, dress boots, hiking boots, heels, platforms or canvas shoes are to be worn.
F. Gym Uniform
· SMA Green tee shirt · Light Gray sweatpants, · SMA Silver Gray Micro-mesh gym shorts in spring and fall · Light Gray sweatshirt with the school logo · Sneakers: Low-cut totally black or totally white sneakers with black or white matching sneaker laces and white/black matching socks.
G. Girls Uniform Grades 1 - 4
· Plaid Jumper - White peter pan blouse either short sleeve or long sleeve · Black or Hunter Green Knee socks or tights · Sweater Options Pick One: Green Crew Neck Cardigan with SMA logo or Green V-Neck Pullover Sweater with SMA logo or Green V-Neck Sweater Vest with SMA logo .Please note: 4th graders who grow and need to purchase a new uniform may purchase 5^th grade uniform.
H. Girls Uniform 5-8
· Plaid Kilt · White short-sleeve or long-sleeve oxford cloth blouse · Sweater Options Pick One:Green Crew Neck Cardigan with SMA logo or Green V-Neck Pullover Sweater with SMA logo or Green V-Neck Sweater Vest with SMA logo· Optional plaid tie - Black or Hunter Green Knee socks or tights
I. Boys Uniform Grades 1 - 4
Khaki pants - White or green polo long or short sleeve with SMA logo - Sweater Options Pick One: Green V-Neck Pullover Sweater with SMA logo or Green V-Neck Sweater Vest with SMA logo · Brown / Black crew sock - Black or Brown reversible belt
J. Boys Uniform Grades 5- 8
· Khaki pants -White Oxford Cloth shirt either short sleeve or long sleeve - Green striped tie -Sweater Options Pick One: Green V-Neck Pullover Sweater with SMA logo or Green V-Neck Sweater Vest with SMA logo *Brown / Black crew sock -Black or Brown reversible belt
K. Pre-K Uniform: · SMA Green T-shirt · SMA Ash gray sweatshirt (Optional) · SMA Ash gray sweatpants · SMA Silver Gray Micro-mesh gym shorts in spring and fall · Sneakers: Low-cut totally black or totally white sneakers with black or white matching sneaker laces and white/black matching socks.
L. Kindergarten Uniform: Embroidered Green or White SMA polo shirt · SMA Green t-shirt * Light Gray SMA sweatshirt (Optional)· SMA Silver Gray Micro-mesh gym shorts in spring and fall *Light
Gray sweat-pants

- Sneakers: Low-cut totally black or totally white sneakers with black or white matching sneaker laces and white/black matching socks

M. Spring Uniform Grades 1-8 (This uniform is optional.) The regular SMA uniform may be worn during this time. Check SMA School Calendar for dates SMA Spring Uniform may be worn.
Boys: ·Khaki walking shorts· White or Green SMA short sleeve polo shirt tucked in. - Black or Brown belt Shoes: Low-cut totally black or totally white sneakers with black or white matching sneaker laces and white/black matching socks. The regular school shoe may also be worn.
Girls: ·Khaki skort or Khaki shorts· White or Green SMA short sleeve polo shirt (All shirts should be tucked in..) Black or Brown belt with shorts / Shoes: Low-cut totally black or totally white sneakers with black or white matching sneaker laces and white/black matching socks. The regular school shoe may also be worn.
Spring uniforms must be purchased from Flynn & O’Hara. Children who are not in proper uniform will be issued a demerit. If a child receives three demerits for the same violation, he/she is liable for a school detention. Continued failure to comply with the dress code will make a child liable for suspension. Children who are not in proper uniform will have points deducted from the Personal Development grade on their report card.
