SMA Virtual Learning Plan for Second Grade
If a child needs to remain at home for instruction, these are the expectations:

• The child needs to be sitting at a table or desk, dressed in an appropriate manner (Students must wear their SMA gym uniform or the SMA Regular / Spring Uniform) conducive to learning.  The area should be a quiet place minimizing interruptions of pets and younger siblings.
•  The child should have their supplies readily available such as their textbooks, worksheets, and other school supplies.  If any other supplies are needed, the child will be notified.
• The child will need to check onto the school website for assignments of the day to keep up with his/her classmates.  The day’s assignments will involve watching videos and/or completing assignments in textbooks and/or worksheets.
• When it is necessary for a child to attend class virtually by way of Zoom or other method (to be determined), an adult will need to be close by to offer any assistance needed by the child such as finding a page or checking progress of the written work as a teacher would do in class.  Parents should be mindful that the work should be completed by the student not the parent. 
• The student should use the programs such as First in Math and RazKids that their classmates use.  Access information will be given prior.
• The parent will need to stop by the school nearly every two weeks to pick up work and drop off completed assignments.
• Parent and teacher will work in partnership to make this a successful learning experience.  Open communication should be maintained.

The above information is subject to change whenever necessary to help the student have a positive, productive year.
