Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! While some of you may be new to St. Michael the Archangel, we will all be one big, happy family in no time. I am very excited for each and every one of your children to be in my class and am even more thrilled to see how much they will progress in Pre-K 4.
This year I will be preparing your child for Kindergarten. We will be focusing on letters, numbers, shapes, beginning sounds and much more. In addition to those subjects, your child will be engaging in center play, which will help build appropriate social skills. Our weekly specials will include the following: Library, Art, Italian, Music and Gym. Finally, Religion will obviously be a major part of our day. In order to support our action-packed schedule, students will have rest time every afternoon, where they will be required to lay on their mat and relax. As well as participating in the previous agenda, we will be involved in all school events and assemblies, since we are truly a part of the SMA School Community.
During our first two weeks of school, we will be focusing on classroom procedures and rules while starting to create our Classroom Family. I will be assessing each child to see where they are in a variety of areas as everyone in the group becomes acquainted with each other.
I would like to know a little bit about your child so I am asking you to take a few minutes to complete the attached questionnaire and bring it with you to your meet and greet. While it may not always be easy, I feel that In order to cultivate a successful school year, the parent/teacher relationship needs to be open, positive and candid. I hope that you all agree and are receptive to this communication.
